"Dress Up" Scriptures - A Fun Scripture Activity For Sunday School

Playing "dress up" was my number one favorite thing to do when I was a kid. Maybe that's why I love props and costumes so much today. Well, the Bible is full of great costumes. You just have to know where to look.

For this fun activity, you will need a willing participant to be the model - maybe Mom or Dad or Teacher or some child who is willing to be a good sport. You will want to gather all of the items listed below that correspond with each Scripture. Place all these items in a bucket or pile. Now, let the children take turns picking a Scripture reference. They will then read it from the Bible and will then have to decide what prop or costume best signifies the verse. Once they decide, they then proceed to place the item on the model. Eventually, once the model is wearing all the props, he or she should look pretty goofy. May I remind you this would be a perfect moment for a picture.

Here is your list of props and Scripture references:

Psalm 119:18 speaks of the eyes, so use glasses for the prop.

Matthew 11:15 speaks of the ears, so use earrings or earmuffs for the prop.

Genesis 2:7 speaks of the nose, so use a clown's nose for the prop.

Matthew 10:30 speaks of the hair, so use a wig for the prop.

Psalm 24:4 speaks of the hands, so use gloves for the prop.

Genesis 32:32 speaks of the hips, so use an apron, skirt or shorts for the prop.

Isaiah 52:7 speaks of the feet, so use clown shoes or other big shoes for the prop.

Proverbs 6:20-21 speaks of the neck, so use a scarf or necktie for the prop.

Daniel 6:10 speaks of the knees, so use knee pads for the prop.

Of course, if you haven't already guessed, this whole idea is based on the truth that God cares about every part of our body. Can you find other Scripture that showcase our body parts? By the way, you could do this activity as a competition. You'll just need to get 2 of everything and separate your kids into 2 teams. The first team to find all the Scriptures with all the correct props placed upon their model is the winner!

Dealing with Grief with Jack Canfield

Creating super habits are easier than you could ever imagine. Most people have something they would like to change in their lives. If you ask anyone, they are usually able to answer this question, "If you could change anything about yourself, what would you change." All the self help and personal development programs and Books available today are full of useful information that nobody seems to take advantage of. You've seen the TV commercials and listen to other people tell their stories, about how they lost weight.

Lifes Suffering Cycles

Connect With God and Feel Better!

If you feel afraid, anxious, or alone during difficult times, I invite you to make friends with the Divine. A close relationship with God helps you feel calmer, safer, and more optimistic. Every individual can enjoy a personal relationship with the Divine if they wish to, no matter where they are in life.

Yes, your relationship with the Divine may FEEL one-sided in the beginning, but soon you'll notice subtle changes that help you recognize the Divine's presence with you. Perhaps you'll feel a physical sensation when calling on the Divine, or you'll ask a question and receive the answer "automatically" through an "unexpected" source. You may notice synchronicities and "little" miracles in your life, or receive the Divine's very practical assistance with timing or planning. You may "know" things you have "no way" of knowing, or see beauty where you saw no beauty before. Perhaps you'll wake up one morning with a love song from the Divine in your head, or the Divine will leave a note for you in the form of a billboard or a license plate. The possibilities are endless. Don't hold out for a "burning bush." Every time you experience the Divine, celebrate!

Here are seven practical tips to help you get started.

1. Set an intention to have a close, enjoyable relationship with the Divine. Write your intention down. Keep it in front of you at home and at work.

2. Model your relationship with the Divine after relationships you already love. How did you develop your favorite relationships? What do you do to maintain them? Make a list. For example, in my favorite relationships, we: talk frequently and really listen to each other, make time for each other, share our fears as well as our excitement, have fun and laugh together, rely on each other in times of need, share different perspectives and things we're learning, share resources, and love/support each other as unconditionally as we possibly can. When your list is complete, use it as a "cheat sheet" to remind you how to relate with the Divine.

3. Be open and honest, and the relationship will be meaningful and fulfilling. The more vulnerable you are, the more support you can receive. In your relationship with God, be honest about ALL your feelings--not just the pretty ones. Feel your emotions fully, even the ones you would much rather avoid or deny.

4. Pay attention. Listen. Sometimes we get so busy barking requests at the Divine, we forget to listen for the response. It is as important to listen as it is to express yourself. Allow yourself the time and the space to receive. Know upfront that responses may not come immediately or in the form that you expect. Be on the lookout for how the response does come to you.

5. Express your gratitude. Stumped for something to feel grateful for? How about your pet, your child, or something in nature?

6. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself. You are an aspect of the Divine, a Divine creation. If you reject yourself, you are rejecting the Divine. If you are unable to love yourself, ask the Divine for help.

7. Accept new opportunities. Remember that God has a much bigger picture of you and your life than you do, and don't limit yourself to receiving only the gifts and information you request. Keep an open mind. Don't be surprised when you receive an insight to do something that you find totally unexplainable. See where that insight leads you.

The unfolding and blossoming of your relationship with the Divine is not a linear process, no matter how much your mind may want it to be. While you have great power to shape and contribute to this relationship, you are not in control of this relationship--the Divine is. You wouldn't take a rosebud and start tearing the petals open to enjoy the rose in full-bloom, so PLEASE don't place that kind of pressure on yourself or this relationship. Know that the Divine loves you and wants to be with you, and enjoy the fruits of nurturing this wonderful relationship!

Advantages of Tithing

God demands us to give back ten percent of everything that he has given to us. When we tithe, it is a sign of obedience, trust and love to our creator. When we obey God by tithing, he makes sure that our stores never run dry of provision for all the things we need and want. This is one time God asks you to test him. This sounds very good. I can assure you that the times I have tested him in tithing, I have never been disappointed. He has been faithful and takes care of all the things I need and desire.

When you obey God in tithing, it is a sure way to assure him that even when he blesses you with much, you will still honor him. God always wants to be put first in our lives. Giving ten percent of what we get to him shows that we think of him first before our needs. When we put him first, he will also put our needs and desires first. He will make sure that we have all and more than we have ever desired.

God tells us in the book of Malachi3:10 that when we tithe he rebukes the devourer on our behalf. No more will our businesses go down or we lose our jobs. The kingdom of God's principals work for us. We get favored in places we could not imagine. Our expertise and services are required by people who we don't even know how they got to know us. We also have peace knowing that we are not robbing God. It feels good to know that you are doing what God instructs you too.

Hot Yoga For Detoxification Benefits

Hot yoga or bikram yoga is gaining popularity as the new way to detoxify and to remove toxins from your body. For this method, you just need to think of yoga as if you are in a sauna. In fact, it is thought so effective for cleansing purposes that some natural health treatment centres are including it as part of the regimen for chronic liver diseases like hepatitis C.

Your skin is one of the best waste disposal systems in nature. While it is different from your waste-extraction organs like kidneys or livers, your skin is an equally effective organ for removing waste, especially toxic wastes. It does this through sweat.

Hence, hot yoga provides the perfect channel for detoxification to happen. You would be tapping the ability of your skin to convert toxins that come from various fats into simpler and water-soluble compounds that can be easily removed. At high temperatures, you will begin to sweat. Amonia and urea is eliminated as well as sugars and salts.

When you do hot yoga, exercises are performed in a room heated to temperatures of around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Once inside, you go through a program of specified postures in a vigorous but very aerobic workout. The internal heat generated by the yoga exercises combines with the external heat of the room to make you break out in torrents of sweat.

On its own, yoga is already a powerful healing regime. When you do yoga exercises, you are working out every muscle in the body, making them strong, supple, and flexible. Aside from being able to help in cardiovascular problems, yoga is also excellent for people suffering from arthritis, stress reduction, and a host of other body conditions.

Every posture in the hot yoga for detoxification exercise is complemented with proper breathing techniques to assist you in reaching the maximum limit of the movement. Thus, you may notice that apart from the regular Bikram yoga exercises, you are also trained in the proper breathing techniques. Proper breathing techniques is vital in detoxification and cleansing.

By boosting circulation and metabolism through deep breathing and yoga posture, hot yoga accelerates the result of any detoxification program. Additionally, you also get to learn the techniques of meditation. You learn to relax your mind, thus addressing stress toxins. In conclusion, bikram yoga or hot yoga for detoxification is a powerful means to achieving balance between mind, body and spirit.

What is the Strait Gate?

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:13-14

No doubt you have heard, as I have, many sermons preached on this text.

Most take the same view that those that enter in by the strait gate get saved and those who enter by the wide gate get lost.

But is it really that simple?

As I was washing up the dishes after breakfast this morning, God spoke to me on this very text. I want to share now that which I believe God gave me.

The vast majority of people in the world today DO NOT ENTER BY ANY GATE AT ALL.

They are simply not interested. Some do not believe in God and others, though believing in God have no desire to do anything about it.

They do not attempt to enter in, period!

In the verses quoted above, Jesus is not talking about this group of people. He is only referring to people who actually enter through one of the two gates mentioned. He is talking about people who have a desire for a religion that leads to eternal life and speaks of some finding it but most, although believing they have found it, actually end up lost!

In Revelation Chapter 3 15-16, Jesus gives a message to John, intended primarily for the Church at Laodicea and also prophetically to the Church of the last days before the Rapture.

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth."

He speaks of three types of people, those who are HOT, those who are COLD and those who are LUKEWARM.

Those who are HOT are easily recognized as those who enter in by the strait gate. Those who are COLD can be seen as those who have no desire to enter any gate at all. But it is those who are LUKEWARM that appear as detestable to God. It is those who desire to enter the gate but go through the wrong gate, the wide gate. They are content with a form of religion that does not lead to life.

Notice that Jesus does not appear to have a problem with those who are COLD. He would rather someone be COLD than LUKEWARM!

Because the cold person, although as yet not having any desire for any religion, Christian or otherwise, they can still be reached with the truth.

But the lukewarm, those trying to enter in but by the wrong gate, are usually so stubbornly sure that they are right, that they become unreachable with the truth. They settle for error. They settle for a wrong gospel and another Jesus! (See 2 Cor. 11:4) They have the 'form of Godliness but deny it's power' 2 Tim. 3:3

Going back again to our original text from Matthew 7, I want you to notice that Jesus said there will only be a few that find the true way that leads to life.

Does this surprise you?

This is a very different view from that which we hear from most preachers these days. We constantly hear revival being preached. We are constantly being told of mighty moves of the Holy Spirit that are sweeping millions into the Kingdom of God But if we are totally honest, we see that Jesus told a very different story.

Matthew 7 13-14 speaks of great deception.

It speaks of people trying to find the real truth, but ending up accepting a way that is far from the truth that leads to life. The word 'strait' as used in KJV means 'narrow, from obstacles standing close about'. It's not that God has deliberately placed obstacles in the way to prevent people entering in, but that people have made obstacles of the truth.

Jesus said, "No man comes to the Father, but by me." John 14:6

Many make this an obstacle. They would rather ignore what Jesus said and 'climb up some other way' John 10:1

They would rather seek God's approval by good works, by going to Church or by their giving or a host of other ways. In the end, all these things become obstacles to them entering in and finding life. Jesus said, "I am the door, if anyone enters by me, he will be saved." Jesus is the only Way, He is the only Truth and He is the only LIFE!

So many in the Church today are not entering in by Jesus. Many are following the big name preachers of this day. They hang on to every word that Mr. False Teacher says.

But because Mr. False Teacher is approved by so many, is so well known and respected by the majority, they take his words as truth, without testing them, and follow him.

They are deceived. They are lukewarm. They are detestable to God!

I believe that what we are seeing in the Church today is that which was prophesied for the end times in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. "...That day will not come unless the falling away comes first."

The falling away means apostasy in Greek. The vast majorities in the Church today are in an apostate condition. They have settled for less than the truth.

"...All unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." 2 Thess. 2:10

I challenge you who are reading this, do not settle for that which is being served up as truth by most preachers and ministers in Churches today.

"Test all things; hold fast to what is good." 1 Thess. 5:21.

Test all that you hear by the infallible Word of God.

Not all that sounds 'Christian' is actually truth.

Be among the few who enter in by the strait gate and find LIFE!

Remember that Jesus said, "Fear not, little flock." Luke 12:32 He called the true Church a little flock, not a massive big one! Are you one of the 'Little flock' Are you one of the 'few there be that find it'.

Three Ways to Be Irresistible to a Man

If you've wondered why you seem to click with some men but don't with others, it's probably because you're exhibiting certain behaviors that they find either attractive or repulsive. It's easy to get confused as to which attitudes work towards men, but there are three general, very successful ways to be attractive to any man you meet. And don't be surprised if you've never heard of these tips before, as they go against conventional dating wisdom.

Tip #1: Be the opposite of needy.

Most handsome, independent, outgoing men out there have had their share of needy women who tend to rush into the first relationship that comes their way. So if you want to be irresistible, don't be like most women they've met before. Don't be needy or clingy - after all, these men want to spend their time with a woman who's just about as independent as they are.

When you can show them that you can stand on your own two feet, it'll definitely put you miles ahead of the competition. A confident, strong, funny woman is a lot sexier to men than someone who's all hugs and kisses, and not much else.

Tip #2: Dare to be different.

A lot of the conventional dating wisdom you hear out there tell you to be polite, maintain eye contact, and laugh at every joke he says no matter how infuriatingly inane it might be. Believe me, following the rules can work for a time, but it can only get you so far. Men go for women who bring a refreshing change of scenery, and being different can make you "that" woman for them.

In addition, men would like to be part of the life of the woman they'll eventually settle down with. Do you have something in your life that he would like to be part of?

Tip #3: Try not to be predictable.

Being predictable is tantamount to being boring. If a man can guess how you're going to react, or what you're going to say next, then he'll get the idea that he's got you all figured out. And when he has you all figured out, you've just become a lot less engaging.

The best way to not be predictable is by being yourself, and by doing things differently. Flirt, tease, or make offhand jokes about his appearance or choice of words. You'll be surprised at how saying, "I can't stand you" with a well-placed wink can make him fall head-over-heels for you.

Find out how to create intense attraction with a man.

The Gift Of The Sleeping Christ

Look for a picture of "Jesus calming the storm" on a search engine and you will see many depictions of the dynamic Son of the Living God towering over the wind and waves and showing His great authority. It is much harder to find the scene that took place only seconds before. A sleeping Saviour, surely aware of the difficulty, but not allowing it to affect His peace of mind.

As I pondered over that in my morning's devotions, something inside went yes! That's the gift from Jesus I so long to have, and the gift I wish for my brothers and sisters in North Korea today. Oh don't misunderstand. I desire deliverance. I'd like it even better if there were no storm from which to be delivered. But I read of no such promise. And since storms last longer than the deliverance from them, I want a gift that covers the great majority of my time on earth.

It's relatively easy for a man to receive an outpouring of grace that so confounds the enemies of our soul as to hear them say the word "miracle." How easy is it to sit for literally years, as Richard Wurmbrand of Romania, Haralan Popov of Bulgaria, and a host of others, knowing God is powerful but that He is doing something different in your life, in accordance with His eternal purposes?

We must be honest with ourselves and honest before God. All of our deliverance prayers, personal or for others, are not going to be answered the way we want. In the Scriptures there is a Peter who was delivered but we know that eventually there was one who was tortured and killed. There is a Paul who with Silas was miraculously set free. There's also the Paul who from Jerusalem to Rome to the end of his life was a prisoner of Christ.

There was the great success of John the Baptist, then the waning ministry, the jail cell where doubt entered, the end by decapitation. And must we not add Christ Himself to this difficult list? Amazing miracles, constant escape from death experiences, then betrayal, crucifixion.

There's a pattern here. We see it in the boat. A Christ who is unruffled by anything Hell can stir up, and a Christ who when He needs to, can do the stirring Himself.

Many and precious are the stories of suffering saints from Jesus' day to the present who looked death in the face and received deliverance. Only recently a brother was arrested in Chosun, prayed for by believers all over this world, and released! What rejoicing, what relief. But it does not always happen that way. Oh we need the gift of the sleeping Christ. Absolute perfect peace.

Then join me today in prayer for the land of morning calm, that its citizens will know the peace that only Christ can give. Oh how we long for the day when peace will settle over that entire nation, when Christ is Lord over all Chosun, when the Gospel is preached freely to every citizen. But until the deliverance comes, may God touch His own with the peace that He promised:

"My peace I leave with you... let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Council Of Nicaea Conclusion

The North Korean Martyr Who Was Killed Twice!

North Korea's church history is rich with accounts of martyrs. We know this is information that the church of Christ treasures, and we pass it on to you.

We're studying Korean Church History and have gotten to the war years, "II" and Korean. It was during this time that young Christian teacher Sung Du died twice.

When the Japanese ruled Korea in the early part of the 20th century, this novice yielded to pressure and began to worship at the shrines set up by the invaders. What a disappointment he became to himself and his peers. Not unlike our own falling away under the pressures of materialism... but that's another story.

Sung Du repented. "I will die before denying the faith again!" he promised. He was given that very opportunity. Twice. He accepted it both times. One canceled out his denial, and the other... We will allow God to offer His own praises on that day, but isn't it wonderful that a man like Peter, who denied 3 times, was permitted to accept 3 times (John 21)?

Sung Du went to seminary to prepare for the ministry. Ordination followed. His first assignment was a church near Suyang-Ch'on. The Japanese were gone. But the Koreans, under Communism, turned out to be worse. He was arrested and sent to a mine as a slave laborer, a practice which continues to this "enlightened" age of our own in dark Chosun.

Brother Sung believed that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day and that work should not be done then. He refused! He was therefore beaten. This is the Communist response to any number of ills. They beat him so badly that it seemed he was dead. Since he was "dead", they threw the "corpse" into the river. Watching church members dived in when the Communists went away, and pulled his body out .

They took him back to the village to prepare him for burial. But - and I know you are way ahead of me- he was not dead! (Sounds like a Dae Joyoung episode, only this one is true!).

Months later he was again preaching, almost as strong a testimony as raised Lazarus. But the Communists arrested him again. This time they shot him. They wanted to be sure.

Of course we know the rest of the story. Sung Du woke up once more, in the arms of His Saviour, and he waits there for the rest of us to die for Jesus and join him there. Are we willing to die, even once?

(Some of preceding ideas from Hefley's By Their Blood.)

Thank God for the Korean believers!

A Wild Night at a Columbus Drive-In

Thirty-some years ago there were Christian drive-ins in Columbus, Ohio. You could take the family to see a Christian movie, but in the drive-in mode, in-car speaker and all. My wife and I decided to check it out one night. The Billy Graham film Shadow of the Boomerang was showing.

In every Billy Graham movie, Billy himself shows up in a filmed crusade. Audiences actually get to hear a Gospel message from the great evangelist. And yes, I still consider him to be a great one, especially because of his early message and early methods. We weep at the later compromises with Rome etc, but we do not take away from how the Gospel has been spread.

At any rate, in those earlier days of my walk, I was not acquainted with all the subtleties of Graham associations. All I knew was that he turned me on to God when I heard him. I memorized his sermons, read his books, listened weekly to his radio program. His star was a guide to a young man with very few stars to follow.

This night was to be a little different though. I had been a seeker for many years by now. I had actually been ordained to the ministry of my denomination and had taken mission trips with them. I was considered a potential leader in that group. But inside I still struggled when it came to that personal knowledge on the experience level. So many of my friends talked glowingly of bona fide conversion moments, and I desired one of my own.

I wasn't looking for one that night. Just wanted something interesting to do with my wife, and a night out watching a Graham film in this unique setting seemed to fill the bill.

The story line was excellent. The acting impressed me. But when Billy started preaching repentance that night, something touched me deep inside. It seems as though I finally got it. I had believed the theology for some time, but it began to take flesh and blood form that night. My own flesh and blood.

I was surprised at the suddenness and depth of the feelings that arose. I truly was sorry for my sin. I really did know that I had offended God, and really regretted it. I began to cry and cry and cry some more. My wife didn't know exactly what to think, but tried to support me the best way she could.

After a long session of tears, another emotion began to surface: pure joy. I was so happy I couldn't stand it! Something inside kept saying, "This is it!" That which I had sought for so long was suddenly here. With each burst of laughter came another one. I seemed totally out of control.

Somewhere in the midst of all this strangeness, God gave me the presence of mind to call a preacher friend of mine, and ask him to meet me at the Scioto River. I wanted a "same hour of the night" experience. And I wasn't being baptized because someone demanded it.I wasn't being baptized to score points with a church or even with God. I greatly desired baptism to express outwardly what was happening inwardly. No theology attached, though I can rattle it off now. Just, "Get me to the water!"

Somehow I managed to drive to the river without an accident. I have never been drunk before, but I imagine this is what it is like. Several friends met me, rejoiced with me, and the preacher put me under the water.

That was my third "baptism". Most people would say it was my first. But who's counting? What matters is the joy unspeakable and full of glory available to His children!

Powerful Evidence in the Bible - Believing in Christianity

You're not going to believe the evidence that I found in the Bible on my daily search through it. This information is going to change your life forever. If you're a Christian and believe that Jesus is the son of God and part of the Trinity, keep reading this article. If you're not a Christian and do not choose to believe in Christianity, I suggest that you go find another article to read, you will not benefit from this information, if you are a nonbeliever.

There is powerful evidence in the Bible that Jesus was the son of man, he was born to Mary and Joseph but Joseph wasn't really his father, it says so in the book of Matthew in the New Testament. That's enough evidence right there to provide me with a lifelong pursuit to stay a Christian. It doesn't take much to keep a Christian be leaving in Christianity, does it.

It's a proven fact that Jesus is God, even though God created Jesus, Jesus is God. I hope I didn't confuse you with the last statement that I made but I'm trying to provide you with powerful evidence from the Bible. Unbelievable true stories that can not be confirmed but can not be denied from true believers. Even though some of the stories don't make a whole lot of sense, most Christians will continue to believe they are true. Let's stick together on this one.

If you're honestly a true believer in Jesus, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Don't let anyone tell you that you're wrong or that the Bible isn't really true. Anyone who talks to you about God in a negative way, doesn't get to go to heaven and you shouldn't waste any more of your time talking to these people. They could try to convince you that your religion is based on lies and this is the work of Satan.

There's plenty of powerful evidence in the Bible to prove for a fact that Jesus is God and only Christians get to go to heaven. If you're a Christian, live your life with a sense of relief. All you need is Jesus. Jesus will provide you with everything that you need food, clothes, education, morals, beliefs and of course faith. He will provide you with the faith to believe in God and will provide you with someone to lean on during difficult times.

I would like to ask you, as a true believer in Christianity to learn more about your religion, spent some time educating yourself on the truth. I would also suggest to learn more about other religions, just in case one of them comes up to you with some false testimony. I'm joking of course, you should be aware of other religions and their impact or similarities in Christianity.

How to Do Simple Yoga

Contrary to the popular belief, doing yoga does not necessarily require you to subscribe to the whole new age trend. There are simple yoga techniques you can follow for the mere purpose of physical fitness and relaxation. Yoga is all about inertia which is, after all, a fundamental law of nature. Maintaining a healthy body does not require you to exert any effort-you can just sit back and relax and let nature do that for you.

In this article are two of the simplest techniques you can practice if you want to try doing yoga for health purposes. The first one is the movements of the joints also known as sandhichalana. This technique will allow you to exercise your every joint in full movement. The second one is the hatha yoga which is done chiefly to reduce tension and stress.

The sandhichalana yoga shall take you about three or more minutes to perform. You only need to find a comfortable space where you can sit with your legs stretched out together in front of the body. Once you're ready, you can start doing the first joint exercise which involves the movement of your hands. While doing this, make sure that you maintain a good neck and back posture.

What you need to do is stretch out your arms parallel to your legs with the palms facing down. You have to maintain a distance of nine to twelve inches in between your hands. On this position, you can simply stretch your fingers out so that your palms are opened and then close it afterwards as if forming a tight fist. Repeat this movement ten to twelve times, still, with the palms facing down. After this, you can proceed to wrist movements.

This time around, you only need to keep the palms and fingers loosely in front of you. You only need to move your hands up and down at the wrist, seven to ten times. After which, turn your arms sideward so that the palms are facing each other and repeat the movements of the wrist for another seven to ten times. Turn the palms facing upward, this time, and repeat the same wrist movements seven to ten times as well. Close the wrist exercises with a full rotation of the hands, ten times each in clockwise and counter-clockwise.

Now you can proceed with exercising your elbow joints by moving them ten times vertically and another ten times horizontally. And for a full hand joint movement, end by moving your shoulder joints as if you are rowing a boat. Again, you must not move your legs and your back while doing the joint exercises.

Other joint exercises shall involve the movement of your neck, lower limbs and knee joints. These can be performed also in a sitting position but this time, it is advised that you consult with a yoga instructor to provide you with a basic step-by-step lesson on how to practice yoga properly.

End your simple yoga session with a simple breathing exercise also known as the hatha yoga. This yoga technique can be done relatively anywhere possible as this is merely about controlling your breathing. Start it off by holding your breath deeply in five seconds and letting it out. Repeat this at once and relax for a moment. After that, try to control your breathing by filling up one-third of your lungs with air so that your tummy blows up like a balloon. Let it out. Breathe in two-thirds of your lung capacity so that your tummy blows up and your rib cage opens up. Let it out. Lastly, fill up your lungs with as much air as you can so that your tummy blows up, your rib cage expands, and your shoulders go upwards as if touching your ears with it. Exhale. Repeat this process as much as you want to and as much as you can.

In doing yoga techniques, you have to keep in mind that yoga is all about relaxing and proper breathing. Giving yourself some time to do this in the midst of your everyday routine will ensure a sound mind and a healthy body.

The Law of Attraction - What You Don't Want

The law of attraction will give you what you don't want, perhaps easier than what you do want, because your thoughts have been unconscious, and you aren't aware of how negative your thoughts are.The Law works all the time and if you aren't enjoying your situation right now, then you have to make some changes in your thoughts in order to have your situation change.

  • Make a list of what you don't want It's easy to come up with a list of things that you don't like about your situation. You could probably fill a page of what you don't want. Theimportant part here, is that you DO make a list. You write it down. When we only think about our list, we tend to repeat the same ideas over again.Writing them down puts them in black and white and we can go on to the next item.

Determining what you don't want is the first step in using the Law of Attraction to manifest what you DO want.Your focus up to this point has been on what you don't want.Your focus on something is what causes the law to attract more of it for you.But by writing down what you dislike about your present situation is a way of recognizing your tendency to continue to think in these terms.

  • Become aware of your negative thinking The Law of Attraction is all about changing your thoughts and feelings in order to manifest a new situation.By becoming aware of your negative thinking and your focus on scarcity, you will be able to consciously change the thought youare having at that moment. After all, it is only in this moment that you can make changes. The past is gone, and the future is not yet here.So if you realize you are falling back into an old habit of thinking about what you don't like, you can in that moment, consciously change to the idea, mantra, affirmation or sentence you made up to replace this negative thought.
  • Burn up that paper It has been suggested that you burn up this paper with your dislikes, so that you can emotionally accept that you want them to go up in smoke. Now, as the objections from within come up as you say or think your new thoughts, just recognize that objections will naturally make an appearance, for a time, but you don't have to accept them or believe them any longer. Thank that objection-thought for sharing, and repeat your positive statement.

You are totally in control of your thought process. You can choose what you think about.Your thoughts will produce your reality, and you can choose the reality you would like to experience. Once you eliminate your thinking about what you don't want, you can focus on what you do what, which is when the Law of Attraction will bring your desires into reality.

If you want to know better how to listen within, to countermand those negative thoughts, you can download a free ebook, Learn Listening Within

You don't have to learn the Law of Attraction all by yourself. You have Your Own Magic Wanda who is your inner guidance. She knows how to attract FOR you what you want. Conscious Creation

Conscious creation is the process of being aware of your thoughts and thinking only toward creating your life the way you want it to be. You could then say you are in a state of awakened consciousness. Although conscious actually means aware and in the usual understanding of the word you are awake when you are conscious, on a more subtle level conscious means you are awakened to the truth that you are one with the whole that is universal consciousness.

If you are thinking that if that were true then to this point you have been unconscious, you are exactly right. Most of us have wandered around to this point living our lives completely unconscious. When you switch to being conscious of your own thoughts you turn on an inner light that kick starts the process of attracting into your life that which you are thinking about.

Whether you have realised it before or not, it has always been possible to think this way; how you would like your life to be and for it then to happen exactly the way you thought it would. The reason most people don't actually live the life they would want to is nothing more than the way they think.

Read works by Confucius, Aurelius, Einstein, Da Vinci, Tolstoy, Haanel, Thoreau, Tennyson, Aristotle and Emerson to name but a few and you will notice they all have the same underlying message; you are what you think about most!

So how is this possible?

When you get down to the level of quantum physics, all living matter is made up of molecules which are made up of hundreds upon hundreds of millions of atoms. Our entire universe is nothing more than a vibrating mass of energy. It is in this 'quantum dimension' that all things exist and are connected as one. Throughout history this energy has been referred to as many things; in yoga it is known as 'prana', Taoism knows it as 'chi' or 'qi' and there are many others. It is the life force which pervades all things; the nameless energy which is responsible for all existence.

Quantum physics research has shown that through this energy, we are all connected and each share the same universal consciousness.

To understand this, imagine the universe as a huge ocean and each person a tiny droplet of water making up that huge ocean. The water can exist as an individual droplet but it can also merge to form part of a huge ocean.

To further understand how you can create your life the way you want it to be, quantum physics dictates that nothing can exist until it is observed. To bring anything into your life you have to first think it. How else would the great inventions and technological advances throughout history have come to fruition?

Everything begins with a thought and by understanding we are all part of the same universal consciousness and that we are, at will, able to tap into the field of universal energy we can begin to think about what we would like to create in our lives on a daily basis. This is conscious creation!

This happens already in your life whether you realise it or not. Lets first use the example where your day just doesn't seem to go right from the moment you wake up. You get up in the morning and you stub your toe, you curse the bed post you bumped into and begin a negative train of thought. Without even being aware (conscious) of it one negative thought can lead to another. You might then be running a little late for work, you get stuck in traffic and slowly the negative events are then feeding further negative thoughts. Your day doesn't go well at all and before you realise it you have had the mother of all bad days. That might seem an extreme scenario but if you give a little thought just now to your own days, how many can you think of that just end up like that?

By being conscious of your thoughts you can begin to think in a way that guides the direction of your day the way you would want it to go. When you stub your toe you might curse the bed post but you are then conscious of your thoughts and perhaps say to yourself 'I always get out of bed and feel happy, ready for a great day ahead'. That might seem a little odd to begin with but what it is actually doing is setting a clear intention that this is how you want your day to go. You can see quite easily that a string of thoughts like that would soon have your day headed in a different direction and cumulatively over time change the way you live your life altogether!

What makes conscious creation work?

What makes conscious creation work is the great law which our entire universe of creation depends upon; The Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. It is scientifically impossible for you to think positively and for negative situations to pour into your life.

The tiny vibrating atoms mentioned earlier will attract other tiny vibrating atoms of the same make up, whether this is on a positive level or a negative level; the universe makes no judgements. There is no good or bad, only a thought, feeling, decision or action your part.

Remembering that everything is nothing more than vibrating balls of energy, your thoughts then are no exception. When you are in the process of thinking you are emitting vibrating energy waves. Going back to the analogy of the droplet of water and the ocean, your energy is part of the universal energy and so when your thoughts emit energy vibrations they are tapping into the universal energy.

The Law of Attraction works like a mirror. Whatever we think will emit an energy vibration and the universal energy will just give us back exactly the same. When you are thinking and feeling negative you will get more of the same and conversely when you are thinking and feeling positive you get more of the same.

Negative = negative and positive = positive. It is as simple as that.

So why does this work for some and not for others?

Ask yourself this. What makes some people successful and others unsuccessful? You could say money, status, luck or a whole manner of things but you have to attract such things into your life in the first place.

The answer is successful people only think thoughts around what they want to achieve and in simple terms the universal energy will just deliver what they are thinking.

For those who are unsuccessful, who try and fail and give up will ultimately get more of the same. This doesn't just apply to being successful in the professional sense but successful in love, relationships, money, health and life in general. This theory applies to everything and if you sit and consider this for a few moments you may begin to realise how conscious creation can truly change the way you experience life.

It is important to begin by understanding, acknowledging and accepting that everything which has come into your life was brought there by you and no-one else. You could question this when you think about seemingly negative events and circumstances but your thoughts will have somehow attracted that event or circumstance to you. There is no such thing as co-incidence or being in the wrong place at the wrong time or even the right place at the right time!

There is no exception to this rule!

For you to attract what you want most in your life you not only have to think it but you have to believe it.

If you do not believe that you can become successful, abundant, healthy or wealthy or whatever else you want most in your life, it will not come to you. The reason this works for some people and doesn't for others is very simple. Some people think what they want most in their life, believe it totally and can see it happening before it actually happens. They visualise what they want as though it is already there. They know without doubt that it will happen and of course inevitably it does!

Now, some people think what they want most in the life but they don't really believe it. They might think they want something and be thinking frequently about how much they want this to happen but at some level of their being they are not believing that they are worthy or deserving of it. These underlying thoughts and feelings inevitably emit correlating energy vibrations and so the universal field of energy is getting a mixed bag of vibrations. Such people will not attract what they want in their life and in fact will be attracting exactly that which they don't want! For you to attract people, events and circumstances into your life that you desire most you have to think, see and believe it!

It does not matter that you do not have this in your life right now, just believe totally in what you are thinking and you will notice your life begins to unfold in this direction. This is not an assumption; this is fact.

Another reason why some people don't actually get what they want out of life is because they don't actually know what it is that they want in the first place. Being clear on what you want is the first step in the process of conscious creation.

Conscious creation works because you are setting a clear intention i.e. by thinking what you want, by then believing you will bring this into your life and by visualising yourself having or experiencing this. An important part of this process if thinking as though it is already the case now, and finally by expecting its arrival, without any doubt.

The doubt or not truly believing that you will have what you want is what then emits a 'negative' energy vibration and so you receive back something along the lines of what you are thinking, and of course not what you wanted in the first place!

A great example of conscious creation is around the huge subject of money. If you were to ask a group of people what they would most like to bring into their lives a good percentage would probably say money.

You might say that you have already been thinking positively about bringing more money into your life. You have been visualising yourself being abundant, wealthy and rich but if you are still flat broke you are either focusing on the negative i.e. the lack of money or you do not believe you can have money or are worthy and deserving of having more money or abundance in your life.

The key to conscious creation is to think only what it is you want in positive terms, and as though you actually have it. By focusing on the fact you have no money will inevitably bring more of that situation into your life. When you are thinking 'I need more money' or even 'I want to get out of debt' you are actually focusing on the lack of money rather than 'I have lots of money' or 'money pours into my life and all areas of my life are abundant'. Think as you would want it to be and as though it is already here.

Affirmations and Creative Visualisation

Affirmations are a huge part of conscious creation because they begin to work on a subconscious level. When you are thinking what you want in your life you are making an affirmation. For example 'I am abundant and money pours into my life'. As you say this allow yourself to really experience what that money feels like, what it would give you, and how would it feel to have that money and what would it bring into your life.

Visualise yourself in those situations. As well as making the positive affirmation around what you want in your life, actually experience it, feel it and visualise it in your mind. Affirmations and visualising what you want will make the energy vibrations more powerful.

It can be helpful to create story boards or a book or file on your computer where you store images of what you want to bring into your life. Having these around you act as a reminder and intensify the power of your intention.

At first this might seem a little odd or difficult. As with anything new or alien it just takes time for it to become the norm. Be creative with your thoughts, affirmations and visualisations. Really give yourself time to sit down and think about what you want in your life. Not just things but your life experiences; where do you want to live, how do you want to spend your days, who do you want to spend your life with, what environment do you want to be in, what is important to you and so on. Allow yourself to begin to visualise yourself in these situations and really begin to believe that they are coming to you.

Synchronicities

Synchronicities are those small events that happen sometimes and you think 'ha! What a co-incidence!' You might have been thinking a few days before about looking for a new pair of boots for example. You know the style and colour your want. Then you pass by a shop and there they are. Perfect! Now usually you wouldn't give this much thought you would just think 'cool that's great, got my boots' but really this is a synchronicity.

You thought about the boots just a few days before and you visualised them, really knew and believed you would have them and in accordance with the energy vibrations you emitted, it was no accident that you were passing by that particular shop at that particular time.

Don't get caught up in the detail, let the universe figure that out. You only need decide what you want and the 'hows' of it all will come to you. Whilst its important to be specific about what it is you want, you don't need to work how that is going to come to you. If you start trying to figure that out you will close off opportunities and possibilities. Your intentions will manifest themselves in the strangest of ways sometimes so be open to noticing the synchronicities when they occur.

There is absolutely no difference with creating a pair of boots to creating the perfect job, ideal partner, dream car, dream home, more money or whatever else you want to create. The only difference is that you will only attract into your life what you believe you can have.

For most people there is a point where they don't believe that particular circumstances are possible for them and it is for this very reason that those particular circumstances never become reality for them. You have to believe it.

Discovering yourself

The process of conscious creation naturally provides you the opportunity to discover yourself a little more. When you sit down and give thought to what you really want from your life you start to uncover your true self. You true self is your inner being, that which shines through when you are feeling happy and that which is always connected to universal consciousness.

A lot of people who live their lives 'unconsciously' aren't really aware of who they really are. They are led by society, by the demands and objectives of their job, by their partner, their children, magazines, media, and government and so on.

Allow yourself time with yourself to discover who you really are and what you really want out of life. Go beyond money and possessions and think about how you would like to spend your days, what is important to you and really begin to discover yourself.

When you know yourself more you can make clearer intentions based on what is right and true for you. Be guided by your true self and you will know whether something is right for you by how it feels. If you feel bad about a situation that comes into your life then you know it is not in alignment with your true intentions and you can choose not to act on it, make a decision in that particular direction or follow that path.

Act only in accordance with your true self.

Balancing Being with Doing

It is important to balance all this action and doing with being. Being is simply allowing you to be present, enjoying each moment as it happens and accepting and trusting the flow of life.

When you begin to consciously create your own life you become more aware of what comes into it. Life is a journey and true happiness and inner peace can be found when you begin to discover your true self, achieve a balance of setting clear intentions which you achieve to create and shape your life situation and of accepting what is.

When you set an intention which you believe and know will come to you, start to trust the natural flow of your life. There are times when things happen that on the face of it seem to be totally unaligned with your purpose or intention. In these moments simply accept what is. Trust that this is in accordance with your highest good. You can't always see the bigger picture and so who is to say that this particular 'unwanted' situation is not leading you to what you do want.

When you can accept what is, your life becomes more enjoyable and less of a struggle.

Synchronicities will occur which are in alignment with your intentions and as you begin to manifest what you desire you will begin to notice that less 'negative' situations come into your life.

The process becomes more natural and this is when you find you are balancing simply being with doing.

The power of the present moment

Most people spend a large proportion of their time either worrying about events that happened yesterday, last week, last year or in the past or similarly about future events that have not even happened yet; about tomorrow, next week or even next year.

If you can begin to live in the present moment and only focus your attention on now you will find that the quality of your life becomes greater and you find more enjoyment in living.

You cannot change the past and you cannot be in the future. You can only be in the now.

Being present is about being aware of what is happening in each moment. In this way you are eliminating worry and anxiety. You are not ruminating over past events and you are not anxious over whether things will happen in a particular way tomorrow or next week. You are just experiencing the now.

You are conscious of each moment. In this way you can choose to consciously create in a particular moment, to choose how to respond and act in accordance with your true self and to experience what each moment brings. You will notice synchronicities occurring in accordance with your intentions because you are present and aware of what is going on around you.

Just think about how often you sit worrying about something that was said or done yesterday or in the past; how often you sit thinking about things that have not happened yet and you will catch my meaning of being present.

Allow yourself to simply be in each moment because now is the essence of your life. The past has gone and the future has not yet arrived. You can only affect the now.

To summarise the conscious creation process that can begin to change the way you live your life making it a more enjoyable and happier journey;

* Spend time discovering and connecting with your true self.

* Set clear intentions to create and shape your life situation.

* Believe and trust that you are a part of universal consciousness; you believe in yourself and trust your intentions/purpose will manifest into reality.

* Expect that you will give, receive and are deserving of the best of everything in every situation.

* Be present.

* Accept what is; trust that it is in accordance with your highest good.

* Enjoy each moment.

One Step Away From Success

Green Construction Periodicals Keep Up To Date

The mere idea of green construction, much less the practical application of the philosophy is fairly new. The field is evolving quickly which means periodicals are a good way to keep up with it.

The green construction movement has become well established in the United States and Europe. One sign of this growth is the number of magazines that are devoted to the subject. One such magazine is Green Source - The Magazine of Sustainable Design. The new magazine is a product of McGraw-Hill Construction and is targeted to the over 40,000 architects, interior designers, building owners, and members of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Environmental Design + Construction is another magazine that is directed toward architects and designers and that addresses green construction issues. There are articles concerning research issues and current design trends. There are reviews of various products. You can find out about the latest environmental issues that impact green construction.

Green construction is certainly a modern concept. This is reflected in the large number of online magazines and newsletters that are devoted to it. EcoIq is one of these. It is an online journal that claims to be dedicated to a future that works. Environmental Building News is a monthly news letter that gives unbiased information on green construction. You can check them all out to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.

There are two very popular green construction magazines published in Canada. Green Living is dedicated to the lifestyle. It is aimed more at consumers than at the builders and designers. It gives information on all of the environmental choices that we are going to be facing in the future. Healthy Living is the other magazine and it is from the same publisher and stresses the healthy aspects of green construction. In keeping with the totality concept of the green lifestyle even the pages of these magazines are made from glossy tree friendly paper that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

These are just some of the periodicals and online publications that are being produced to capitalize on the popularity of green construction. The issues that are raised in these periodicals are of great concern to a wide variety of readers. Builders and designers are kept informed of the newest trends and research, as well as the newest environmentally sound products. The consumer is able to follow this information also, but can take it further. They are able to learn of how these environmental concerns influence the health and well being of their families. Although none of the periodicals have made it into the very top tier of magazines, the day is coming when one of them will move into the best seller list. Green construction is still a rising star on the horizon of the American landscape, and before long a magazine will come along to catch the imagination of the public.

10 Critical Factors Of Happiness

Happiness is the one thing most of us seek after and for many it remains a lifelong quest. Chances are you want to be happy all the time but that is unlikely to happen. But what if you could attain consistent and sustained happiness most of the time, wouldnt that be great? What if you could unlock those critical factors that would bring you increased happiness in your life.

Happiness means different things to different people, for some it is the attainment of a life goal or contributing to the lives of others. Can you remember at time when you were truly happy, when you had a feeling of total joy and you were yourself throughout the process? Do you remember what that felt like and how everything and everyone around was affected?

When you increase your level of happiness you will be improving your relationships, health, energy levels, productivity and at the same time reduce the impact of those negative forces on our lives.

Here are the ten critical factors of happiness:

Core values and beliefs. Your values guide your every decision and by extension your destiny. Your beliefs determine whether or not you will attain that destiny. Knowing your values and beliefs and living by them is the ultimate way to live and the main door to achieving greater happiness in your life. To know what your core values are ask yourself Whats most important to me in life? to believe in something is to have a sense of certainty about it. To create this sense of certainty you should search your mind for the experience s youve had in the past and use them to support that idea.

Taking action. Inaction is one sure way to kill any happiness you may have quickly if not instantly. In order to live by your values and beliefs you must take action to do so your happiness demands it. Never give consul to fear indecision, laziness or frustration immobilize you. Work through those negative forces and up you confidence level and live in a manner that reflects your desire to be happy. Get up and get out there and do it.

Goals. Many people are unhappy because they do not set goals. You must set new goals for yourself and do something each day towards its attainment. No matter how small they might be, set them anyway and work at achieving them. Make sure your goals are what you want them to be and no one elses, the worst thing in life is to live it doing what others say you must do.

Gratitude. Be thankful for everything in live that you have. Yes you must give God thanks for all that you now experience and pray that you will do better as time goes by.

Expand your mind with learning. Work constantly to engage your brain by trying to learn more. Be interested in learning new things and open up your mind to new ways of seeing things.

Key yourself healthy. One major part of happiness is good health so never ever do anything that will jeopardize your health. Do what you must to be healthy and stay that way it will benefit you for years to come. Be aware of what your body is telling you when something is wrong and have it checked out.

Positive influence on others. One of the happiest feelings you can have in life is knowing that you are a positive influence on someones life. Many people are in search of real role models and leaders. When you are a positive influence you will have the opportunity to get ahead in life.

Dream big. Do not get caught up in what is going on right now, thats not the true reality, live life on your own terms. Always keep in mind that it is possible to live your dreams so dream big dreams.

Take a break. Many people get so caught up in living life and getting by that they end up burning themselves out. You must realize that you need to take a break and take some time to yourself so that you can serve yourself and others better.

Keep moving forward. Be careful whom you listen to on a day-to-day basis. Give attention to those who will support and help you dont listen to those that will put you down. Focus on moving forward and let no one stop you.

It is important for you to know that this list is not exhaustive but these are the most critical factors of happiness. You may add to this list to suit your own needs.

Changing Your Thinking

Genetically Based Sin

Some time ago, I read with interest the comments someone sent to a large urban newspaper. They had to do with the writer's concern on the implications of genetic research on the prevailing ideas regarding sin and man's free will. Is humanity really responsible for some acts condemned by the Western religions? A United Methodist bishop also was quoted as wondering if sin is centered exclusively in free will.

The Apostle Paul, the Church's quintessential theologian would have no argument with the idea of genetically based sin. Such discoveries verify his teachings, long recorded in his Epistle to the Romans, that due to The Fall the human race is "sold under sin." Paul wrote that, by its own volition, humanity is unable to practice the morality demanded by God, since the sin principle (Paul uses the term: "The law of sin and death") is so dominant a factor in human nature that, without submission to the Spirit of God through Christ Jesus, men are unable to free themselves of its clutches. The human mind indeed may will to achieve the demands of God's moral law, but the sin factor [genetically based sin] in fallen humanity does not permit it. A regeneration and transformation through Jesus Christ - a rebirth, if you prefer - is necessary.

The Apostle Paul put it this way, "So I find that this law is at work: when I want to do what is good, that evil is the only choice I have. My inner being delights in the law of God. But I see a different law at work in my body - a law that fights against the law which my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin which is at work in my body . . ." (Romans 7:21-23; Good News Bible).

Paul's solution? "There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Jesus Christ. For the law of the Spirit, which brings us life in union with Jesus Christ, has set me free from the law of sin and death. What the law [the moral code] could not do, because human nature was weak, God did . . ." (Romans 8:1-3; Good News Bible; brackets added by the author).

Yes, indeed! The genes of our race are programmed to sin! God understands this, and He has mandated a reprogramming through the Holy Spirit of those who are born again through Jesus Christ. It is for neglecting to avail one's self of benefits of this reprogramming that a person is charged by God with guilt.

Who knows? As scientist continue their search they yet may verify other long-scorned Biblical truths, such as life after death, the reality of heaven, and - now be nice, Josprel - perhaps even Hell and the Lake of Fire.

Religion and Spiritual Communication

How do we overcome our difficulties talking about religion with other people? This would also include people that we talk to about religion and agree with us. If someone tends to agrees with us most of the time, this could create difficulties in a different way. Their constant agreement could tell us a couple of things about them, either they don't know enough about the topic you're discussing, have no interest in it or they don't want to upset you and will tend to agree with you often if not always.

The biggest problem, dealing with the difficulties in talking about religion would involve two people who disagree on one or many topics. These topics could range from very important (life changing and factual) to common beliefs. When someone ask you a question like, "Do You Believe in God?", this could lead to an argument with the wrong person.

You can be honest, but always have an exit response if things get a little out of hand. Whenever someone chooses to become animated or mad at me, because of something I said, that they don't believe in, I can simply choose to remove myself from their presence. I would like to point out to my readers, rarely do I ever choose to remove myself from any heated discussion but often encourage or egg them on.

If you don't feel comfortable asking questions about religion, but seek answers from others, start with simple unoffensive questions and lead your way into the bigger ones. For example if I wanted to know, why someone believes in Hinduism, but am afraid to directly ask them... have someone else asked them. Okay maybe that's the easy way out, but you could always start with a question related to their childhood like," How Old Were You When You Started Going to Church?"

They might reply with, we don't go to church, we go to Temple or Mandir. This often breaks the ice that could lead to the end of the conversation, quickly. If you did a little research before you spoke with them, you could always replace church with the word temple but not Mandir. This might give them the impression, you already know about their religion, let them explain their religion to you.

If this is handled in a nonthreatening way, it could lead to a friendship of greater trust and now you can ask the bigger questions. Asking the big questions sometimes, even in a friendly environment this could become frustrating if your intentions are other than just gathering information. Don't try to convert anyone to follow your religion or spiritual practices. This could end the relationship quickly and cause bad feelings.

Treat people like you would like to be treated and if you treat people poorly, disregard the last statement and treat people with kindness and compassion.

Growing Up Around Christians in Organized Religion

I was born in the 1960s and raised in Southern California, United States of America. During that period of time, and in the area I was raised, there was basically one religion that dominated every aspect of mine and my friends lives. That religion was Christianity. When I was in elementary school, I knew one Jewish boy and he looked different than the Christians and even talk different. He was very smart and spent a lot of his time reading, instead of playing at recess.

There were no Muslims or Hindus and it was a predominantly white environment. The first black students I seen was when I entered the eighth grade and by the time I finished high school, I could count all of the black students I had met on both of my hands. So now you have a pretty good idea of my life, living in a white neighborhood that was 90% Christian.

As you can guessed it, I was raised a Christian, but not a regular Christian, I was a Methodist and proud of it, until my parents got tired of the church elders asking for money or if my father could help build the new church. My father explained to them, that he needed to work to support his family and could only contribute, what ever he could to the church and no more. They were very unhappy and made it uncomfortable for us to go to the church anymore.

Hard to imagine, isn't it. Christians asking for money and then when they don't receive it, getting mad at one of their brethren.

Well it was time to switch churches and we are now going to the Crystal Cathedral Church in Garden Grove California. These people had everything and it was a large church. This was before they built the massive glass structure that is presently the church sanctuary. I enjoy going to this church, because we didn't have to go to Sunday school and got to sit with the adults to worship.

By the time I was 15, neither one of my parents were going to church anymore and my life didn't seem to change that much, even though I prayed every night with my brother. Maybe that was it, I didn't have to go to church as long as I prayed every night... By the time I was 18 years old, I was more confused about organized religion than ever before and this included Christianity.

How can someone kill in the name of God? The Muslims were doing it, the Christians were doing it, the Muslims were fighting the Hindus in India and it all seemed normal. It didn't seem normal to me, when I was supposed to love my neighbor and live a life like Christ who never seemed to start fights or even get mad. Maybe a couple of times, over some money, in the Temple.

I have chosen not to be a part of organized religion. I'd figured out that most of our religious beliefs came from our upbringing. This seems to have brainwashed us into believing we are better because were right and know for a fact, that we have chosen to belong to the right religion. What if were not right?

I want to ask you a question, do you think that other religions are wrong and yours is right? If you really spend some time and think about this, you will see, that your religion is not that different than someone else's and neither was their upbringing. Most religious followers, belonged to the religion of their childhood.
